For the first time, an African agency has been named Independent Agency of the Year at the Luum Awards. In the fourth editions of the festival, X3M Ideas of Nigeria secured this honor by winning 1 Grand Prix, 1 Gold and 2 Silvers, which positioned the agency to be selected as the world’s best independent agency in what proved to be a competitive edition held at the Hilton Convention Centre in Geneva, Switzerland.
X3M Ideas also positioned itself to win the African agency of the year at the festival.
Meanwhile, with one Titanium, one Grand Prix, 2 Gold trophies and 6 silvers, VMLY&R was named Network of Year. McCann came in second place, thanks to the outstanding participation of its offices in Paris, Spain, Tel Aviv, Poland, Japan, Panama and Brazil. Dentsu came in third place.
Additionally, VMLY&R with SFBO (French-Brazilian Society of Oncology) was named as the Advertiser of the Year was, Dentsu won Latam Network of the Year, and Edelman won for PR Agency of the Year.
It is worth noting that a select group of judges, made up of professionals from the world’s leading NGOs, advertisers, and creative agencies, scored the year’s best social and environmental cases. Then, a group of 5 judges were selected at random to vote on the Titanium and Grand Prix awards on November 2 in Geneva.
Independent and network agencies from across the 5 continents participated in this third successful edition of the festival. Among the winners of the 101 trophies awarded at the 2023 festival, were communications companies from the United States, Brazil, Israel, France, Nigeria, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Chile, Japan, Peru, Indonesia, India, Spain, Bolivia, The Netherlands, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and many more.
