The successful case “DOGS WITHOUT BORDERS,” produced for SFBO (French-Brazilian Society of Oncology), by VMLY&R offices in Spain, New York, and São Paulo, along with the case “The Undercover Names,” produced for the CLEO Institute by Zubi VMLY&R USA, helped rank VMLY&R as the top Network of the Year at the 2023 Luum Awards: the global festival that rewards the best creative works promoting social and environmental causes.
In this third edition of the Luum Awards, VMLY&R was named Network of the Year and Agency of the Year (thanks to its offices in Spain, São Paulo, and NY). It also managed to win the Health Agency and European Agency of the Year awards with VMLY&R Health Spain
Additionally, VMLY&R, with SFBO (French-Brazilian Society of Oncology), was also named Advertiser of the Year. In total, VMLY&R took home one Titanium, one Grand Prix, 2 Golds, and 6 Silvers, from the 2023 Luum Awards. A total of 101 trophies were awarded this year.
Meanwhile, McCann placed second, thanks to the outstanding participation of its offices in Paris, Spain, Tel Aviv, Poland, Japan, Panama and Brazil. Dentsu came in third place, securing a spot on the podium as one of the top three networks of the year.
It should be noted that a select group of judges, with professionals from the world’s most influential NGOs, advertising agencies and creatives, were the ones who selected the best social and environmental works of the year. Then, a group of 5 judges were chosen at random to vote on November 2 at the Geneva Hilton Convention Center, for the Titanium and Grand Prix awards.
Networks and independent agencies from across the 5 continents participated in this third successful edition of the festival, featuring communications companies from the United States, Brazil, Israel, France, Nigeria, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Chile, Japan, Peru, Indonesia, India, Spain, Bolivia, The Netherlands, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, among others.
